The Woodlawn Diversity In Action (WDA) Youth Entrepreneurship Program is designed to empower youth aged 9-13 with essential business skills for youth, fostering entrepreneurial skills, critical thinking abilities, and a problem-solving mindset. This initiative aligns with WDA’s mission to nurture creativity and innovation in the Woodlawn community, while also promoting leadership, confidence, and strong business acumen through engaging community engagement programs that enhance youth entrepreneurship skills.

Equip youth participants with essential business skills for youth by providing foundational entrepreneurial training. Inspire creative problem-solving through community engagement programs that identify local or global challenges. Guide participants in developing youth entrepreneurship skills as they create business concepts that address these challenges. Build confidence and self-expression skills to empower participants to excel in various areas of their lives, including speaking up in school for classroom assignments and effectively communicating within their households during distressed situations. Enhance presentation and teamwork abilities through collaborative project work.

Each week, participants will engage in a 1-hour interactive session focusing on essential business skills for youth. This program includes topics such as Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Problem Identification, which fosters youth entrepreneurship skills. Participants will also work on Solution Development, crafting a Unique Value Proposition, and Understanding Unfair Advantages. Additionally, they will explore Customer Segments and Channels, as well as Key Metrics and Revenue Streams, all crucial for community engagement programs. The series will culminate in a Final Presentation that showcases their learning.
