WDA Vision encourages the Woodlawn and surrounding communities to collaborate, provide real estate development, education, and promote the growth of youths and adults regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
WDA Mission is to serve and connect individuals and families by holding events that promote community awareness, housing, education, social responsibility, health and wellness, and youth violence prevention.

Woodlawn Diversity in Action has partnered with the Jessie “Ma” Houston Park Advisory Council with the mission to build a stronger community and conserving the park. We want to capture a bit of local history by featuring images of living African American activists and people who have ties and live in the Kenwood Neighborhood; Timuel Black, age 102. Rev. Helen Sinclair, age 100, Rosie Simpson age 90, and the people who still gather in the park today. The mural will be located on the ComEd building in the Jessie ‘Ma’ Houston Park located at 50th in Drexel by Reavis Elementary School. Mark your calendars and please join us for park clean up day on May 22, 2021 and the dedication celebration on June 19, 2021 (Juneteenth)!
