    Our Mission

      WDA Vision  Envisions a Woodlawn and surrounding communities where collaboration thrives, real estate development flourishes, and education is accessible to ALL. "All communities thrive".

    WDA Mission  To create opportunities, focusing on community awareness, education, social responsibility, housing, health and wellness and violence prevention, while covering fundamental pillars that contribute to the wellbeing and overall growth of the community.

        Student Loan Forgiveness and Discharge

        Woodlawn Diversity in Action has partnered with Governors State University,  presents information on the 2010 Educational Reconciliation Act the law. Oct 1st student loans borrowers payments start.         WDA & the Jessie “Ma” Houston Park Advisory Council

        Join us for park clean up day May 22 2021 and the dedication celebration on Jun 19, 2021 Juneteenth

        Woodlawn Diversity in Action has partnered with the Jessie “Ma” Houston Park Advisory Council with the mission to build a stronger community and conserving the park.  We want to capture a bit of local history by featuring images of living African American activists and people who have ties and live in the Kenwood Neighborhood; Timuel Black, age 102. Rev. Helen Sinclair, age 100, Rosie Simpson age 90, and the people who still gather in the park today.  The mural will be located on the ComEd building in the Jessie ‘Ma’ Houston Park located at 50th in Drexel by Reavis Elementary School.  Mark your calendars and please join us for park clean up day on May 22, 2021 and the dedication celebration on June 19, 2021 (Juneteenth)!
